Welcome to the Department of Cellular and Molecular Medicine (CMM) at UC San Diego. Our more than 40 faculty, over 200 trainees, and dedicated staff are united by a single mission: to understand the cellular and molecular basis of human disease and translate that knowledge into therapies that save and improve lives. Our research has led to FDA-approved medicines and contributed to foundational technologies such as the lipid nanoparticles that deliver today's RNA medicines.
